Ian has been successfully racing Caterham’s since 2009. Initially buying an old Roadsport A race car for £7000, working his way through the Caterham Motorsport ladder and finishing third in the 2012 R300 championship. Since then, Ian has continued to race in Caterham Motorsport series as well as Mag 7s, Caterham Graduates, GT Cup (in a Ginetta G55) and endurance racing. Ian has had countless wins in all series and regularly finishes on the podium, usually in whatever car you give him. Ian has 14 years experience working in marketing in the financial and insurance sectors before taking the plunge in 2016 to run PT full-time as Managing Director . He lives in Berkshire with his partner and young son, holds an International C race licence and is an accomplished instructor with his background in psychology.
Ben bought his first Caterham in 2000 - a 235hp Vauxhall-engined HPC which he dry-sumped, put slicks on and took around Spa and the Nordschleife on Wheeltorque and RMA track days. Ben started racing Caterhams in 2007 after signing up for the Academy in its last year with the K-series engine. Progressing through the ranks to the R300 championship, Ben had regular top ten finishes and achieved his first podiums in the PT Sports Cars shared Ginetta G50 in GT Cup in 2013 where he came 2nd in his class and 3rd in the overall championship. Since then, Ben has been racing Ginettas, a Citroen C1 and currently a Caterham 310R. Ben has a successful career in investment banking behind him and is now a technology investor. Ben also has an International C race licence and lives in Bucks with his wife and two young children.
Dave has been with PT since 2014 and has recently taken on the role of Workshop Manager. During his time at PT, Dave has grown the workshop team to six full-time staff and has developed PT’s experience beyond Caterham to include Ginetta, Lotus, Westfield, Radical and FunCup cars. And, of course, the Citroen C1! Dave previously worked as a fabricator and vehicle repair technician before making the jump across to PT. Dave lives in Berkshire with his wife and two sons.
Dale was PT’s first full-time mechanic, joining in the early days in the shed in Fullers Yard in early 2014. Dale now leads our Motorsport and Trackday support activities and can typically be found in the paddock at Silverstone, Snetterton, Brands Hatch or other UK circuits. Dale is backed-up by a team of twelve highly-experienced staff with full logistics support to have a ‘home from home‘ at the circuit. Dale has been instrumental in the growth of PT’s track activities with Caterham and our other marques. Prior to joining PT, Dale worked as a Technician with Audi, passing through their apprenticeship programme. Dale lives in Bucks with his long term partner and 3 sons.
Chris has been involved with Caterhams since 2001 when he bought his 1.8 litre Crossflow-engined car. Chris’s car is a bit like ‘Trigger’s broom’ - not much of the original car has been retained due to upgrade-itis. He regularly joins other Caterham owners for blats around the country and trackdays. Chris is also a keen motorsport photographer and is often to be found at Silverstone and Donington where he has full media-accreditation. Last year, he attended 15 meetings including the British GP, Silverstone Classic, Donington Historic Festival, F4/GT Cup rounds and the Caterham Motorsport Finale at Silverstone. Chris is a member of the Tripos Media Partnership and his work has been published in motorsport magazines as well as event programmes. Chris lives in Northamptonshire with his wife and son and is a primary school teacher during the week.View chris's work
Rich has been interested in track days and racing for over 15 years. After many years of enjoying track days, he started racing a Westfield with CSCC in Magnificent Sevens, progressed to a Porsche Boxster in Modern Classics in 2016 and now races a Citroen C1 in the new C1 endurance series. In 2018 he will also race a Ginetta G50 in the 750mc Club Enduro series. He holds an international C race licence and is a fan of longer endurance races. Rich lives in Gloucestershire with his wife and young son. When he is not at PT, Rich runs a technology business, is a Trustee of the charity Spinal Track and is an angel investor, specialising in the finance & operational sectors.
